Custom & Premium Bra Manufacturer

Custom Bra Manufacturer for Brands and Designers, from 50 pcs

KnitUnderwear is a bra factory in Shuyang, making underwear since 2011. We work directly with designers and premium brands to develop custom bras from concept to finished garment. Send your tech pack, a reference bra, or a mood board, and we handle pattern development, fabric and trim sourcing, and finishing. MOQ 50 pcs per style. This is for brands and designers ordering production runs, not single made-to-measure pieces for individuals. If you are a bra designer looking for a manufacturer, the first thing you get from us is a spec sheet, sent back for your approval before anything is cut. Elastic recovery is wash-tested before cutting, and an AQL inspection report ships with the order. The sample fee is credited back against your bulk order.

What Makes It Custom

Four dimensions of customisation available independently or in any combination.

01

Custom Pattern

We draft from your tech pack or reverse-engineer from a reference sample. Your pattern is kept on file for repeat orders.

02

Fabric & Trim Selection

Choose fabric from our sourced stock or specify a mill. Lace, stretch satin, silk charmeuse, embroidered mesh, Pantone-matched dyeing.

03

Premium Finishing

Hand-finished lace trim, satin ribbon, crystal or bead detailing, embroidery, bonded invisible seams, woven label with custom artwork.

04

Small-Batch Production

MOQ 50 pcs per style makes custom production viable for capsule collections, limited editions and design-led brands not ready for mass minimums.

Your Branding

Fully Branded From Label to Packaging

Custom woven labels are produced in-house. Heat-transfer marks and branded swing tags to your spec.

What kind of custom bra are you building?

Each category has different construction priorities. Knowing which one you are in helps us propose the right fabric, cup structure and finishing from the start.

Occasion wear

Bridal & Evening

Strapless bustiers, longline silhouettes, corset-boning, structured cups with embroidered lace or crystal trim. The priority is silhouette precision. Every seam line is visible under fitted evening wear.

Typical fabrics: French lace, silk satin, duchess satin, embroidered tulle
Finishing: Hand-finished trim, bead or crystal detail, custom packaging

Design-led brand

Premium Capsule Collection

Small-batch collections for fashion brands, concept stores and subscription boxes. Usually 2 – 5 styles per drop, Pantone-matched colourways, custom woven label and packaging. MOQ 50 pcs per style keeps the economics viable before scaling.

Typical fabrics: Stretch lace, microfibre, satin mesh
Finishing: Custom label, hang tag, branded polybag or box

Custom Development: What It Costs and What You Own

Three things custom bra buyers ask before they send their first brief. Here are straight answers.

Development fee

Quoted per style before work starts

Covers pattern drafting and the first proto sample. Fee is disclosed on the quote and varies by cup construction complexity: a simple soft-cup bralette is lower than a structured longline with boning.

✓  Credited in full against your bulk order once production starts.

Proto rounds

First round in the development fee. Second at a reduced rate.

Most styles take one to two proto rounds before sign-off. Complex constructions (full boning, structured encapsulation, heavily embellished lace) sometimes need a third. We confirm the expected round count on the quote.

✓  Each round ships within 10–14 days of confirming revisions.

Pattern ownership

Yours from the first day of development.

Your pattern is filed under your brand name and marked exclusive. We do not reproduce it for other clients. An NDA is signed before we open any design files. Reorders start from the same approved pattern, with no re-drafting cost.

✓  Files returned or deleted on request within 30 days.

Premium fabric and material options

The fabric choice is the first decision that affects silhouette, hand-feel and price. These four categories cover most of what we work with on custom styles.

Decorative & structured

French Lace & Embroidered Tulle

Used for cup overlay, trim borders and full-cup lace styles. Woven lace holds its pattern across seams; embroidered tulle is lighter and sheerer. Both are hand-cut to preserve the motif at the cup edge.

Best for: Bridal, evening, fashion capsule
Available in: White, ivory, black, nude, custom-dyed
Supply note: Specific lace patterns sourced to your reference

Luxury lining

Silk Charmeuse & Satin

Used for cup lining, band panels or as the primary outer fabric on smooth-cup styles. Silk charmeuse delivers a genuine silk hand-feel against skin. Stretch satin (polyester/elastane) is more durable and easier to wash, with a similar surface finish at a lower price point.

Best for: T-shirt bra lining, slip bra, lingerie set
Colours: Pantone-matched dyeing available on stretch satin
Care: Silk charmeuse: hand-wash; stretch satin: machine-wash

Structured & smooth

Stretch Satin & Microfibre

The workhorse fabrics for everyday custom styles. Microfibre (nylon or polyester) gives a smooth, invisible finish under clothing and works with both moulded and seamed cup constructions. Stretch satin adds a slight sheen for a premium look. Both accept Pantone dyeing and deliver consistent colour across reorders.

Best for: T-shirt bra, balconette, everyday custom
Construction: Moulded or seamed cup; wired or wireless

Transparent & overlay

Power Mesh & Sheer Tulle

Power mesh is the structural layer behind cups and side panels. It controls stretch and adds breathability without bulk. Sheer tulle is purely decorative: used for overlay panels, flutter trim and back yokes where visual lightness matters. Both are standard across lingerie styles and can be Pantone-dyed to match your colourway.

Best for: Cup overlay, fashion editorial, strappy design
Transparency: Light (power mesh) to full (sheer tulle)

What to put in a custom bra brief

A custom bra moves fastest when the brief says what matters most. Send these six, even roughly, and the first proto lands closer to what you pictured. A mood board or reference photo is enough to start.

1. Design reference

Sketch, tech pack, reference bra or mood board, plus what you like and dislike about the reference.

2. Customer and size range

Who wears it, size range with cup progression, and the fit model or base size.

3. Construction

Cup type, wired or wireless, band and back closure, and strap style.

4. Fabric and trim direction

Lace, mesh, satin or other, swatches or Pantone references, and trim and hardware ideas.

5. Detail priorities

Which finishing details must stay and which can change if cost or time requires.

6. Quantity and price target

Styles, colours and units per style, target unit price and launch date.

Choosing between your own pattern and ours? OEM vs ODM compares the two routes. Everyday constructions and sizing are on the bra manufacturer page, lace-led styles on lace & mesh lingerie.

How we keep custom bras the same from proto to bulk

For a custom style the risk is the step from approved proto to bulk. These three steps cover it.

1

Your pattern stays on file

The approved pattern is kept on file for repeat orders, so reorders start from the same fit.

2

Recovery is tested before we cut

Elastic recovery is wash-tested on the production fabric. The report goes to you before cutting starts. AQL inspection at the end checks visible defects.

3

Same batch as your proto

Band elastic comes from a designated supplier and the spec sheet ships with your goods. The elastic in your sample and in your bulk order comes from the same batch and dye lot.

Payment follows inspection: 30% deposit to start production, 70% balance after you approve inspection. How we run QC →

Private Label Finishing: Included in Every Order

Woven labels, hangtags and packaging are produced or sourced at our factory, so no third-party finisher is required.

In-house woven labels

Brand size label, care/content label and country-of-origin label woven and stitched in during assembly. Label studio is on site, and there is no minimum order for the labels themselves.

Printed hangtags

Custom card printed, hole-punched and attached before packing. Supply a print-ready PDF or we apply a standard template at no extra charge.

Per-piece polybag

Clear polybag with header card, or custom printed polybag. Each piece bagged individually and size-sorted. Tissue wrap available for premium packaging presentations.

Rigid gift box

Custom-printed rigid box from 200 pcs per style. Standard for bridal sets, capsule collection launches and boutique retail. Include box spec in your brief for a combined quote.

From Brief to Bulk: How Custom Development Works

Five steps. You control two milestones: proto sign-off and bulk approval. The NDA and pattern ownership are locked in at step one.

1

Brief + NDA

Share a mood board, reference bra or written description. We sign an NDA before opening any design files. Development fee quoted within 48 hours.

2

Pattern + Spec

We draft the pattern, source fabric proposals and issue a spec sheet. You review and confirm before we cut any material. Your pattern is yours from this point.

3

Proto — 10–14 days

First physical sample made and shipped. Most styles need one to two rounds. Revision notes go back to us in writing; next round ships within 10–14 days.

4

Sign-off + Order

Approve the final proto and place the bulk PO. 30% deposit starts production. Development fee credited in full against this order.

5

Bulk — 35–45 days

Full production run, elastic recovery tested, AQL inspection, then FOB Shanghai or Ningbo. Inspection report and spec sheet included with shipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your MOQ for custom bras?

50 pieces per style per colour, which keeps custom production viable for capsule collections and limited editions.

How much does it cost to get a custom bra made?

Unit price depends on cup construction, fabric and trims. After your brief we send fabric options, trim options and an indicative unit cost. The sample fee is credited 100% against your bulk order.

Can you work from a mood board or reference photo instead of a tech pack?

Yes. Send a tech pack, a reference bra, a sketch or a written description, and we write the spec together. We sign an NDA before opening the files.

How long do the first proto and bulk production take?

The first proto takes 10 to 14 days, and bulk runs 35 to 50 days after sample sign-off.

How do I know bulk will match my approved proto?

The approved pattern is kept on file, elastic recovery is wash-tested on the production fabric with the report sent before cutting, and proto and bulk use elastic from the same batch and dye lot.

How does payment work?

30% deposit to start production. The 70% balance is due after you approve inspection.

Does the pattern belong to me?

The approved pattern is kept on file for your repeat orders and is not reproduced for other clients.

Do you ship DDP or FOB?

Both. We quote FOB Shanghai or Ningbo, or DDP delivered to your door, whichever suits your import set-up.

Can you source a specific lace or embroidered fabric if I provide a swatch or reference?

Yes. Send a physical swatch, a high-resolution photo or a supplier reference number and we will compare it against our trim library and sourcing contacts. If an exact match is available we confirm it in the fabric proposal. If not, we show you the two or three closest alternatives with the difference described clearly (pattern scale, weave density, transparency) so you can make the call before sampling. Sourced fabrics are listed in your spec sheet and reserved for your reorders.

Do your fabrics carry OEKO-TEX or other certifications?

If certification is a requirement for your market or retail buyer, tell us in your brief and we will confirm the certification status of each fabric we propose before you commit to sampling. For fabrics sourced specifically to your reference, we verify and document the certification status as part of the material proposal. We cannot guarantee certification on all custom-sourced materials, but we flag it clearly if a preferred fabric falls outside certified supply.

What Custom Bra Brands Say

“

We had a reference bra and a mood board, nothing else. They drafted the pattern, flagged a seam line issue that would have shown under the gown fabric, and fixed it on the second proto. The bridal set launched without a single fit complaint.
